経歴
1992年、東京工業大学(現、東京科学大学)有機材料工学修士課程を卒業。ブリヂストンに入社し約30年間にわたり、技術開発、新規事業立ち上げ、グローバル生産技術マネジメントを歴任。技術と経営の双方を深く理解する視点から社業に貢献。
1992~2001年:研究開発部門に所属し、戦略事業における市場競争優位性確立を目的とした差別化技術の開発・実行化を推進。当時開発を主導した中核技術は、現在もなお基幹商品に搭載され事業を支え続けている。
2002~2013年: 新規事業開発のプレイングマネージャーとして、タイヤ周辺領域における新事業立ち上げをリード。顧客(某自動車メーカー)との密接な「共創プロセス」を確立し、顧客の潜在的なニーズに基づく商品企画を推進。新事業の実現とともに、お客様からは特別表彰を受賞。
2014~2025年: 生産技術部門の部長職として、グローバル約40拠点の工場における全体最適化と競争力強化を指揮。モノづくり現場に立脚した技術革新の創出に加え、工場運営のキーとなる「工場人材のグローバル教育センター」も担当し、技術戦略と人材育成を融合した「経営視点での組織変革」を推進。
2026年、今後より一層、社会的な重要性が増してくる人材業界に対して、これまで製造業として培ってきた経験を活かして貢献したいと考え、ジーニアスに参画。
Profile
Izumoto completed a master’s degree in Organic Materials Engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology (now Tokyo University of Science) in 1992 and joined Bridgestone Corporation the same year. Over nearly 30 years, he built a career spanning technology development, new business creation, and global manufacturing engineering management, contributing to the company through a strong understanding of both technology and business.
1992–2001:
In the R&D division, Izumoto led the development and deployment of differentiated technologies aimed at strengthening competitive positioning in strategic business areas. Several core technologies developed during this period remain embedded in key products and continue to support the business today.
2002–2013:
As a playing manager in new business development, Izumoto led the launch of new initiatives in areas adjacent to the tire business. By establishing a close co-creation relationship with a major automotive manufacturer, product planning was advanced based on customers’ latent needs. These efforts resulted in successful commercialization and special recognition from the client.
2014–2025:
As General Manager of the Manufacturing Engineering Division, Izumoto oversaw optimization and competitiveness enhancement across approximately 40 production sites worldwide. In addition to promoting technology innovation rooted in manufacturing operations, he also led a global education center for factory personnel, driving organizational transformation from a management perspective by integrating technology strategy with talent development.
In 2026, recognizing the growing societal importance of the talent and human resources industry, Izumoto joined Genius to contribute to this field by applying the experience and expertise gained throughout a career in manufacturing.
